Bonsai Growing Tips

Even today, there is bonsai in China, but the refinement and artistic nature of the later Japanese version of bonsai, are still lacking. This gave rise to stunted looking trees, with gnarled trunks and branches, which came to be prized as pon-sai. When the Japanese interacted with the Chinese, they adopted several of their customs and traditions.

The pots themselves are part of the art as well, chosen to compliment the shape and color of the tree itself. The shapes are usually a product of both the pruning of the tree and through the use of wrapping the trunk and branches with wire, pushing the tree into its desired shape. Mosses and rocks are often added to the base for aesthetic appeal.

Bonsai Growing Advice

This is due to the fact that "virtual" stores cost a lot less to operate than regular stores, and most website owners are perfectly happy to pass these savings on to their customers. Most websites that specialize in these products offer the same seeds, pots, containers, fertilizers, pruning shears, and starter kits that you would find in retail stores, but for a much lower price. Raising a bonsai tree is one of the most rewarding and positive experiences I've ever had.

Bonsai can grow to be your age and many prized plants have grown to be more than a hundred and continue to become sturdier, healthier and more beautiful as the years pass. The key is keeping it moist as often as possible especially during the summer. As a general rule, avoid heavy watering because it makes your bonsai tree more vulnerable to fungal infections and may cause the roots to rot.
